Last week I travelled north to Loughborough to inspire year 11 students at Rawlins Academy. The event was held at the Quorn country hotel; the hotel was an incredible place and a great venue to share my message, principles and strategies.
This is the message I received from the school prior to the event:
“What I really want them to get out of the day, is a sense that they can achieve, and that the GCSE exams aren’t the end of something, they’re actually the beginning, and that they need to start thinking now about how to achieve what they need. I suppose in a nut shell, it’s about building self-esteem and confidence.”
Roughly 30% of the students already had a great understanding of what
they wanted to achieve within school and once they graduated. The rest of the students told me they had no idea what they wanted to achieve.
I created a 3-hour workshop that would ensure a successful outcome for Rawlins Academy. Through many activities and strategies, the students who had a great understanding of what they wanted to achieve within school and once they graduated increased significantly from 30% – 80% by the end of the workshop.
The day was a huge success with amazing feedback from the students and teachers. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the students stories and their future goals, I can’t wait to see what the students produce over the next couple of years.
