Exam Motivation – If you are in Year 11 and have exams coming up then it’s no secret the next couple of months are not going to be particularly ‘fun’. I constantly receive messages from students telling me about all the pressure and stress they are currently feeling. Before I touch on this, I strongly recommend you watch the video below – this is the 7th exam motivational video I have released so far this year:
There you have it; you don’t need to work 100 hours a week, if you are progressing in the right direction then you can still take time-out to have fun and relax. However all this comes down to how you control your time; essentially time management, if we can become more effective in this area then everything with your exam studies will become easier. I did a video on this over a year ago; the video is about organisation, utilizing your week and ensuring you are making the most of every hour. The video is below if you would like to watch it (it is perfect for tutor time):
Therefore if you have been working hard, take a break! Do something you love and relax because you deserve it! You can still have a life and study hard, okay your studies are the priority for the next 3 months but it is important we re-energize and reboot on a regular basis, this will decrease the chance of burnout.
On the other hand, do not go out on a Saturday evening or turn on the PlayStation straight after school if you haven’t done any work or revision. As I said about the people working hard, they have earned their rest and they deserve it.
In conclusion you will need to earn your fun and if you have been putting in the hard work, revising at home, revision clubs, focusing in class etc. then make sure you rest and recover. There are 168 hours in one week; plenty of time to fit everything in but you must take control of how you spend your time.
So until next time, keep on pushing and remember you can’t have excuses and results at the same time; it’s one or the other. You choose. Start NOW!
