International Teens to Intense Rounds to Inset Day – This past week has been a whirlwind — a full-spectrum experience that stretched me physically, mentally, and professionally.
It all started in the mountains of Switzerland, where I had the privilege of running a two-day experience with teenagers from all around the world for Village Camp. These weren’t just any sessions — they were high-impact, mindset-driven workshops designed to help young people build clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of identity. Many of the students had travelled thousands of miles to be at the camp, and their energy, openness, and ambition reminded me exactly why I do what I do. It was powerful, humbling, and energising all at once.
From there, I jumped straight into something completely different — my first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competition. I’ve trained hard for this moment, and while I didn’t take home the gold, I did come away with
a silver medal and something even more meaningful: I hit my personal goal of losing 9kg and making weight. That process took serious discipline, commitment, and sacrifice — and honestly, that’s the win I’m most proud of. Competing on the mats was a test of everything I’ve been building physically and mentally over the past few months.
And to round off the week, I stepped into the school hall at Bourne End Academy to deliver a staff training session. This wasn’t about surface-level tips and tricks. I shared the findings from my work with over a million teenagers, focusing on standards, expectations, and the mindsets that hold young people back — and how, as educators, we can help shift them. The staff were brilliant — open, engaged, and clearly committed to making a real difference.
Three very different environments. Three very different roles to play. But a common thread ran through all of them: growth. Whether I was working with young people in Switzerland, testing my limits on the competition mats, or challenging mindsets in a school hall — each moment pushed me in its own way.
I’m finishing the week tired, proud, and more committed than ever to the mission. Onwards.
