Challenge The Behaviour – Yes challenge the behaviour not the individual; that was the very wise words from former head teacher Peter Rowland. Before I continue it is very important you watch the motivational video below from the first ever ‘Old Head, Young Shoulders’ podcast:
Yes this motivational clip is only a preview; you can expect the full episode later this week, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for that. However in this specific motivational video we discuss the journey, and how every individual will go through his or her own struggles, battles and successes.
This personally happened to me; when I was younger, I wasn’t the most well behaved in school, as Peter suggested on this weeks podcast. However his formula is to challenge the behaviour; because you can fix that and make the changes over time. I use to pretend and act like someone I wasn’t; it wasn’t the real me and I was essentially acting, but over time and through different experiences I started to discover the real me.
I wasn’t around positive people at that time and I didn’t have role models in my life to follow. That is crucial; I do feel I needed to go through that to be where I am today and to be able to make the difference we are currently making.
Believe it or not that difference wasn’t created by the words we share but it was created by us leading by example, keeping our word and showing the younger generation that it is actually possible to make your dreams happen.
We are all leaders; you may be a leader in the classroom, for your sports team, for your brother or sister, who knows…but I do know this, you have the potential to lead, and lead well, but instead of just talking about change, become the actual role model and people will follow.
That is a wrap for this motivational blog; if you haven’t already be sure to follow me on all my social medias for that daily motivation and for bookings email me personally on cam@cameron-parker.com and I will get back to you ASAP. Until then keep up the great work and don’t stop inspiring.
