The Power Hour is the UK’s leading motivational assembly for post-16 students. This high energy opener ignites ambition, raises standards, and sets a relentless tone for the Impact Day. Students gain clarity on what they want next, work experience, degree apprenticeships, university pathways and the belief they can secure it. More than a talk, it’s a mindset shift: from passive to proactive, from “good enough” to “go further.” The Power Hour primes students to go above and beyond and seize real opportunities in the sessions that follow.

Discovery Hour: Why Average Isn’t Enough

Students discover the truth: doing the bare minimum won’t cut it. Sending in the same application as everyone else won’t secure the opportunities they want. First, we reflect on what’s been done so far, what’s worked and what hasn’t. Then Cameron shows students the real competitive edge: why a strong CV, a professional LinkedIn profile and a proactive approach are essential. This is about going above and beyond, making calls, building connections and standing out from the crowd. The Discovery Hour shifts mindsets, showing students that success comes from doing what others won’t.

This is where talk becomes ACTION. Students step out of their comfort zones and put everything into practice, making real phone calls to companies, sending LinkedIn messages and actively reaching out to secure opportunities. By the end of this stage, students haven’t just planned their next steps, they’ve taken them.
