What is patience? Well Google defines patience as: “the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious.” To be honest; I couldn’t agree more, but before I continue with this motivational post watch the video below on how I learned ‘patience’:
Our generation want things right this second, people don’t want to wait, waiting is a thing of the past, or is it? Good things take time. I get why people lack patience, especially with social pressure, social media and the high expectations that are set for us.
For example did I originally feel I would be where I am right now years ago? Absolutely not; I was completely impatient and I used to get extremely frustrated when particular things were not going my way or I wasn’t achieving the goals I set for myself.
Therefore through this process I learnt one key element of success – patience. The journey toward your goals and dreams takes time; it’s a learning process where you will experience many ups and downs, this is, unfortunately, unavoidable.
So what we need to do is accept that dreams can take longer to achieve than originally anticipated. We must believe that regardless of how long it takes, you will get there, you will achieve it despite what you experience on the way and because of that there is only going to be one outcome.
When you carry this mentality you begin to enjoy the journey a lot more, looking at the bigger picture instead of just battling with the everyday stuff. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go out there and work your hardest, this is essential and after all, ‘your dreams don’t work unless you do!’
Anyway, some food for motivational thoughts!
